Message Center Switch Module: Removal

  1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Apply parking brake. Unsnap center moldings on both sides of instrument cluster. Remove steering column cover and shroud.
  2. Remove knobs for autodimmer and autolamp (if equipped). Remove instrument panel screws. Pull instrument panel outward.
  3. Unplug electrical connections as necessary. Remove instrument panel from front of instrument cluster. Remove retaining screws and switch module from rear of instrument panel.
