ISSUE

Effective October 31, 1994 the 1994 AX4S and AX4S-SHO (all applications) and the 1995 AX4S (one Windstar application ONLY) are available for use in transaxle repairs per the provisions of TSB 94-14-5. These Transaxles are available, as priced and part numbered assemblies, from your facing Ford Authorized Remanufacturer.

ACTION

Dealers are required to use a Ford Remanufactured assembly in place of an overhaul for warranty repairs on covered applications when the estimated cost of repairs exceeds $1300. Ford Remanufactured AX4S Transaxles are available for use in all repairs, including Warranty, ESP, AWA, Service Part Warranty and Retail.

An all-dealer letter dated October 27, 1994 and an update to the Exchange Program Guide gives complete details of this program.

NOTE: For 1995 Windstar 3.8L, only AX4S service part # F48Z-7000-BRM is available for exchange. Service part # F48Z-7000-BRM can only be used as a replacement for assembly part # F48P-BA and cannot be used as a replacement for assembly part # F481P-BB. Assembly part # F48P-BA and F48P-BB are not interchangeable. No Ford remanufactured exchange is currently available as a replacement for assembly part # F48P-BB.
