Warning Indicators Inoperative

  1. Check fuse No. 11. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is bad, replace fuse. If fuse blows again, inspect and repair for short in circuit.
  2. Check for loose wiring connections in engine compartment and at instrument cluster. If wiring is okay, go to next step. If loose connections are found, secure connections.
  3. With ignition switch in OFF position, partially remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance from cluster connector C1, pin No. 7 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair circuit No. 57 ( Black wire) for open.
  4. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using a test light, check for voltage at cluster connector C1, pin No. 13 (Red/Yellow wire). If test light illuminates, replace instrument cluster printed circuit and retest. If light does not illuminate, repair circuit No. 640 (Red/Yellow wire) for open and retest.
