Section 161 (Engine Controls - System/Component Tests - EEC-IV (5.8L)): Introduction
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 1995 Ford RV Cutaway, 1995 Ford Pickup, 1995 Ford Econoline, 1995 Ford Cutaway, and 1995 Ford Club Wagon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Before testing separate components or systems, perform procedures in BASIC TESTING - 5.8L article. Since many computer-controlled and monitored components set a trouble code if they malfunction, perform procedures in TESTS W/CODES - EEC-IV (5.8L) article.
NOTE:
Testing individual components does not isolate short or open circuits. Perform all voltage tests with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate shorted or open wiring harness.
NOTE:
For WIRING DIAGRAMS not shown in testing procedures, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at the end of this article.
