- Measure voltage between ground and generic electronic module connector C2, pin No. 8. Press transmitter UNLOCK button. If voltage is less than 1.3 volts as UNLOCK button is pressed, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, replace transmitter.
- Connect scan tester to Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC). Select DIGITAL MEASUREMENT, PULSE WIDTH METER and choose LEVEL setting LOW. Press UNLOCK button on remote transmitter. If pulse width is 190-210 milli-seconds, go to next step. If pulse width is not 190-210 milli-seconds, replace transmitter and retest system.
- Disconnect Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) module C2 connector. Disconnect Generic Electronic Module (GEM) C2 connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of Brown/Light Green wire between RAP module connector pin No. 10 and GEM connectors pin No. 8. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Brown/Light Green wire circuit. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, fault cannot be isolated. Testing is complete.
