Pinpoint Test F - Generator

  1. Measure voltage at battery terminals. If voltage is at least 11.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than specified, charge or replace battery as necessary.
  2. Disconnect ABS control module 12-pin connector C220. Measure voltage at harness connector C220 terminal No. 9 (Black/White wire). No voltage should exist. Turn ignition on. Battery voltage should exist. If voltages are as specified, go to next step. If voltages are not as specified, repair Black/White wire between fuse panel and control module.
  3. Reconnect ABS control module 12-pin connector C220. Start and idle engine. Measure voltage at alternator terminals "B" (Black/Blue wire), "L" (Brown wire) and "S" (Red wire). Voltage should be about 13-14 volts. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, repair or replace alternator.
  4. Disconnect ABS control module 18-pin connector C219. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at harness connector C219 terminal No. 11 (Brown wire). Voltage should be .8-3 volts. Start and idle engine. Recheck voltage at harness connector C219 terminal No. 11 (Brown wire). Battery voltage should exist. If voltage is as specified, go to PINPOINT TEST G - WARNING INDICATOR. If voltage is not as specified, repair Brown wire between alternator and ABS control module.
