Fuel Gauge Test
- Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove fuel indicator module from rear of instrument cluster. Using fused jumper wire, apply battery voltage to "+" terminal on gauge. Connect "-" terminal on gauge to ground.
- Connect one lead of Gauge System Tester (014-R1063) to "F" terminal on gauge. Connect other tester lead to "-" terminal on gauge.
- Set tester to resistance specified in the FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE . If fuel gauge indicates as specified, go to appropriate symptom test for further diagnosis. See TESTING (PINPOINT TESTS) . Replace fuel gauge if it does not indicate as specified.
