Test C: No Communication With Passenger Seat Module

NOTE:
Connector C364 is a 2 terminal connector. Identify by wire color. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
- Test Power Supply To Passenger Seat Module - Disconnect passenger seat module connector C364. Check voltage at Black/White wire of passenger seat module harness connector C364. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 7).
- Test Fuse No. 18 - Remove fuse No. 18 (30-amp) from power distribution box in engine compartment. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is not blown, repair open in Black/White wire.
- Test Red Wire For Short - Check resistance in Black/White wire between output side of fuse No. 18 and ground. If resistance 10,000 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to step 5).
- Test Red Wire For Short - Disconnect lumbar switch connector. Check resistance in Black/White wire between lumbar switch harness connector and ground. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace lumbar switch. If resistance 10,000 ohms or less, repair short in Black/White wire.
- Test Red/White Wire For Short - Disconnect lumbar switch connector. Check resistance in Red/White wire between lumbar switch harness connector and ground. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short in Red/White wire.
- Test Red/Black Wire For Short - Check resistance in Red/Black wire between lumbar switch harness connector and ground. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace passenger seat module. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short in Red/Black wire.
- Test Power Supply To Passenger Seat Module - Disconnect passenger seat module connector C320. See Figure . Check voltage at Black/Light Green wire of passenger seat module harness connector C320. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 11).
- Test Fuse No. 12 - Remove fuse No. 12 (10-amp) from in-car fuse panel. If fuse is not blown, go to next step. If fuse is blown, go to step 10).
- Test Black/Light Green Wire For Open - Check voltage at input side of fuse No. 12. If battery voltage exists, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Black/White wire.
- Test Black/Light Green Wire For Short - Check resistance in Black/Light Green wire between passenger seat module harness connector C320 and ground. If resistance is greater than 10,000 ohms, replace passenger seat module. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short in Black/Light Green wire.
- Test Black/Light Green Wire For Open - Check resistance in Black/Light Green wire between passenger seat module harness connector C320 and ground. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, test module communications. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
