Section 50 (Instrument Panel - Electronic): Operation: Speedometer/Odometer

The speedometer displays vehicle speed, based on input signals from the transmission-mounted speed sensor. If the odometer has been serviced, an "S" will appear whenever the instrument cluster is turned on, except in the off-period of prove-out mode. If the odometer cannot read a valid odometer mileage from memory, it will flash the word ERROR as a service alert.
