Trunk Does Not Unlock
- Turn ignition on. Press trunk release switch on console. If trunk unlocks, go to next step. If trunk does not unlock, go to step 3).
- Disconnect RKEM connector C2. Measure resistance between RKEM connector C2, terminals No. 9 and 22 (both Purple/Yellow wires) and trunk release solenoid Purple/Yellow wire. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, temporarily substitute known good RKEM, then retest system. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Purple/Yellow wire and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAM .
- Inspect ACC (10-amp) fuse located in underdash fuse panel. If fuse is blown, replace fuse and go to next step. If fuse is okay, repair open or short in Purple/Yellow wire. See WIRING DIAGRAM .
- Disconnect RKEM connector C3. Press trunk release switch on console. If trunk unlocks, temporarily substitute known good RKEM, then retest system. If trunk does not unlock, go to next step.
- Disconnect trunk release switch on console connector. Using jumper wire, connect trunk release switch Black/White wire to Purple/Yellow wire. If trunk unlocks, replace trunk release switch. If trunk does not unlock, repair short to ground in Purple/Yellow wire. See WIRING DIAGRAM .
