NOTE: Before performing any testing, perform trouble shooting. Repair as necessary. Check PCM for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section for diagnostic procedures.

NOTE: On 7.3L diesel, speed control functions are controlled by the PCM. See TESTS W/CODES - DIESEL article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section for diagnostic procedures.
