DTC B1302: Delayed Accessory Relay Coil Circuit Failure
- Check Window Operation
- Turn ignition on. Operate power windows. If power windows do not operate, go to next step. If power windows operate, go to step 5).
- Check Grounding Signal From GEM
- Turn ignition off. Remove accessory delay relay (located in instrument panel fuse block). Using NGS tester, enter GEM ACTIVE COMMANDS. Select ACCY RLY, and trigger relay on. Using a ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and accessory delay relay connector terminal No. 85. See Fig 1
. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to step 4).
- Check For Open In Instrument Panel Fuse Block
- Disconnect GEM 18-pin connector C201 from instrument panel fuse block. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between accessory delay relay connector terminal No. 85 and GEM connector C201 terminal No. 17. See Fig 2
. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace GEM. Using NGS tester, repeat GEM self-test. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace instrument panel fuse block. Using NGS tester, repeat GEM self-test.
- Check For Open Circuit
- Remove battery saver relay from instrument panel fuse block. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between battery saver relay connector terminal No. 3 and accessory delay relay connector terminal No. 86. See Fig 1
and Fig 3
. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace instrument panel fuse block. Using NGS tester, repeat GEM self-test.
- Check For Shorted Relay
- Turn ignition off. Open driver's door. Remove accessory delay relay from instrument panel fuse block. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and accessory delay relay connector terminal No. 85. See Fig 1
. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace accessory delay relay. Using NGS tester, repeat GEM self-test.
- Check For Shorted GEM
- Disconnect GEM 18-pin connector C201 from instrument panel fuse block. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ground and accessory delay relay connector terminal No. 85. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, replace instrument panel fuse block. Using NGS tester, repeat GEM self-test. If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, replace GEM. Using NGS tester, repeat GEM self-test.
