Test B1629: PRNDL Reverse Input Shorted To Battery
- Check Reverse Input - Ensure transmission selector is in Park. Select RAP module TRANSGR. PID. If PID TRANSGR reads REV, go to next step. If PID TRANSGR does not read REV, replace RAP module. Restore and retest system.
- Check Black/Pink Wire Circuit For Voltage - Turn ignition off. Disconnect RAP connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position (engine off). Ensure transmission is in Park. Measure voltage at RAP module connector Black/Pink wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace RAP module. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . Restore and retest system.
- Check Transmission Range Sensor - Disconnect TR sensor connector located on transmission. Measure voltage at RAP module connector Black/Pink wire terminal. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair short to battery in Black/Pink wire circuit. Restore and retest system. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace TR sensor. Restore and retest system.
