Test E: Alarm Does Not Work From KERT

  1. Check RAP Module Outputs  - Set vehicle alarm as normal. Set off (trigger) alarm to sound horn and flash lamps. If system responds as normal, go to next step. If system does not respond properly, see ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS article for further diagnosis.
  2. Check Door Lock Operation  - Lock and unlock doors using KERT. If door locks respond as expected, go to next step. If door locks do not respond as expected, go to TEST C: NO LOCK/UNLOCK USING KERT  .
  3. Check TIC/DATA  - Enter RAP FUNCTION TESTING, TRANSMITTER TIC/DATA. Monitor transmitter TIC/DATA screen. Turn ignition off. Press and hold PANIC button on KERT for 3-4 seconds. If an 8-letter/number code appears under LAST TIC RECEIVED and word PANIC appears under LAST DATA RECEIVED, replace RAP module. Restore and retest system. If display is not as indicated, replace KERT. Restore vehicle. Program new KERT. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Retest system.
