Upper Intake Manifold: Installation

- Position the upper intake manifold and loosely install the 6 bolts.
- Tighten in the sequence shown to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the RH upper intake manifold support brace-to-upper intake manifold bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Connect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector and vacuum hose.
- Connect the 2 IMT valve electrical connectors.
- Install the front upper intake manifold support brace-to-upper intake manifold bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Position the PCV tube and the coolant hose and attach the PCV tube to the PCV valve.
- Attach the coolant hose and the PCV tube retainer to the upper intake manifold.
- Connect the 2 coolant hoses to the upper intake manifold.
- Connect the EVAP and PCV tubes to the upper intake manifold.
- Connect the brake booster vacuum hose to the upper intake manifold.
- Connect the TP sensor and electronic throttle control electrical connectors.
- Position the cross-vehicle brace and install the 7 bolts.
- Tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
- Install the cowl panel grill. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
NOTE:
Clean and inspect all sealing surfaces. Inspect and install new gaskets as necessary.
