Upper Intake Manifold: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Remove the cowl panel grille. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
- Remove the 7 bolts and the cross-vehicle brace.
- Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor and electronic throttle control electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect the evaporative emissions (EVAP) and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tubes from the upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses from the upper intake manifold.
- Detach the coolant hose and the PCV tube retainer from the upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect the PCV tube from the PCV valve and position the PCV tube and coolant hose aside.
- Remove the front upper intake manifold support brace-to-upper intake manifold bolt.
- Disconnect the 2 intake manifold tuning (IMT) valve electrical connectors.
- Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector and vacuum hose.
- Remove the RH upper intake manifold support brace-to-upper intake manifold bolt.
- Remove the 4 upper intake manifold bolts and the upper intake manifold.
