Removal and Installation

- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Disconnect the block heater electrical connector and position aside.
- Loosen the block heater retaining screw and remove the block heater.
- To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. If equipped with fire suppression system, repower the system.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .

CAUTION:
Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal.

CAUTION:
Make sure the block heater electrical connector is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components, or damage to the cable can occur.
