Battery Saver Relay

  1. Remove relay. Measure resistance between terminal No. 2 and all other terminals. See Figure. If any resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace relay. If all resistances are more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Connect one jumper between relay terminal No. 3 and positive battery terminal. Measure voltage between ground and relay terminal No. 4. See Figure. If battery voltage does not exist, replace relay. If battery voltage exists, go to next step.
  3. Connect second jumper wire between relay terminal No. 1 and positive battery terminal. Connect third jumper wire between terminal No. 2 and ground. Check for voltage at terminal No. 5. If battery voltage does not exist, replace relay. If battery voltage exists, relay is okay.
