Test A: No Communication With Parking Aid Module

NOTE: After any repairs, perform data link diagnostic test. See DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - BLACKWOOD article.
  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Parking Aid Module (PAM) harness connector C4014. PAM is located behind left "B" pillar trim panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and PAM harness connector C4014 terminal No. 1 (Gray/Yellow wire). See Fig 1. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step  3.
  2. Measure voltage between ground and Central Junction Box (CJB) terminal No. 19 (Red/Black wire). See Fig 2. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Black wire between ignition switch and CJB. See POWER DISTRIBUTION in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. If battery voltage exists, repair open in Gray/Yellow wire between CJB and PAM. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and PAM harness connector C4014 terminal No. 3 (Black/Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire between PAM and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  4. Measure resistance between ground and PAM harness connector C4014 terminal No. 15 (Brown/Pink wire). If resistance is more than 10 k/ohms, see MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK - BLACKWOOD article. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair open in Brown/Pink wire between PAM and parking aid sensors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
