Section 251 (Front Suspension): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Ford RV Cutaway, 2002 Ford Econoline, 2002 Ford E450 Super Duty, and 2002 Ford Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Independent front suspension consists of coil springs, shock absorbers, a stabilizer bar with end links, spindles, radius arms, and twin "I" beam-type front axle assemblies. "I" beams are mounted to a frame pivot brackets at one end, and to radius arms at the other. The "I" beams also locate the spindles with ball joints. The springs are mounted between frame spring pocket and axle. The shock absorber mounts between the spring pocket and the radius arm. See Fig 1 .
