Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedure. DO NOT activate air bag system at this time. If installing NEW passenger-side air bag module, remove temporary tape holding wire harness and electrical connector to module. Install wire harness and electrical connector pin-type retainers to air bag module housing after mounting air bag module to instrument panel.
- Tabs on passenger-side air bag module must be engaged into slots in instrument panel bracket. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connectors. Close glove box.
- Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all remaining deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
