Engine Front Cover: Material

MATERIAL SPECIFICATION CHART

Item Specification
Silicone Gasket and Sealant F7AZ-19554-EA or equivalent WSE-M4G323-A4
  1. Remove the RH valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER RH  in this section.
  2. Remove the LH valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER LH  in this section.
  3. Remove the belt idler pulleys and the belt tensioner. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT, TENSIONER AND PULLEY  in this section.
  4. Remove the coolant pump. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  5. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
  6. Remove the fuel tube bracket bolt.

  7. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
  8. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN, OIL PUMP, OIL PUMP SCREEN AND PICKUP TUBE  in this section.
  9. Remove the power steering pump. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM .
  10. Remove the crankshaft front oil seal. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY AND CRANKSHAFT SEAL  in this section.
  11. Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration and table.

  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Items 5 and 6: Engine Front Cover and Engine Front Cover Gaskets Removal Note 

  1. Remove the fasteners and the engine front cover.
    • Discard the gasket.

Items 4-6: Engine Front Cover, Engine Front Cover Fasteners and Engine Front Cover Gaskets Installation Note 

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces on the engine and the engine front cover.
  2. NOTE: Install the engine front cover within four minutes of sealant application.

  3. Apply a 6 mm (0.24 in) diameter dot of silicone gasket and sealant to the areas indicated.
    • Install a new gasket.
  4. NOTE: Number 14 is a stud and washer assembly.

  5. Position the front cover and tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
