  16. Install the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVELINE SYSTEM .
  17. Install the three-way catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
  18. Fill the engine with clean oil
  19. Install the clean air inlet duct. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .
  20. Install the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR, FUEL CHARGING, STARTING & ENGINE ELECTRONICS - 3.0L (4V) .
  21. Connect the battery ground cable.
  22. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  23. Fill the power steering system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM .
  24. Charge the A/C system. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM .

  1. Install the special tool to the engine as shown.

  3. Using an engine crane, transfer the engine to the subframe.

Item 23: O-Ring Installation Note 

  1. Using the special tool, install a new Teflon® seal on the pressure line fitting.

  1. Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise and install the drive belt on the pulley.

  7. Remove the safety stands from the rear of the vehicle.
  8. Install the air dam and install the lower air deflector pin-type retainers.

  7. Install the inner splash shield.
    1. Position the inner splash shield back.
    2. Install the pin-type retainers.

Item 53: Steering Shaft Installation Note 

    CAUTION: Do not allow the steering wheel to rotate while the steering column intermediate shaft is disconnected or damage to the clockspring can result. If there is evidence that the wheel has rotated, the clockspring must be removed and recentered. For additional information, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .

  1. Connect the intermediate shaft to the steering gear and install the pinch bolt.
