Heater Control Valve and Heater Hoses

NOTE:
Lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only if needed.
- Position the vehicle on a hoist with the gear selector in NEUTRAL. For additional information, refer to LIFTING .
- Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR, FUEL CHARGING, STARTING & ENGINE ELECTRONICS - 3.0L (4V) or INTAKE AIR, FUEL CHARGING, STARTING & ENGINE ELECTRONICS - 3.9L .
- If removing the heater tube assembly, remove the fresh air inlet duct. For additional information, refer to AIR DISTRIBUTION DUCTS .
- If removing a heater hose or the heater tube assembly, or if equipped with a 3.9L engine, drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- If removing the dual coolant control valve on vehicles with a 3.0L engine, clamp off the heater hoses at the component before disconnecting.
- If equipped with a 3.9L engine and removing a heater hose, the dual coolant control valve or the auxiliary coolant flow pump, disconnect the upper radiator hose at the engine.
