Instrument Panel

  1. If removing the instrument panel, depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
  2. Remove the front floor console. For additional information, refer to FLOOR CONSOLE .
  3. Remove the transmission range selector lever. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 5R55S .
  4. If removing the instrument panel, remove the LH and RH A-pillar lower trim panels. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM PANELS .
  5. If removing the instrument panel, remove the LH and RH windshield side garnish mouldings. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM PANELS .
  6. To remove individual components only, carry out the following steps.

  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Item 1: Instrument Panel Trim Panel Removal Note 

  1. If equipped, remove the instrument panel trim panel nut.

Item 3: Assist Arm Removal Note 

  1. Lift up on the arms when lowering the glove compartment door.

Item 6: Glove Compartment Bin Removal Note 

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Item 20: Intermediate Shaft Removal Note 

  1. Separate the intermediate shaft from the steering column.

Item 27: Defroster Grille Removal Note 

  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Item 38: Instrument Panel Removal Note 

  1. An assistant is required to carry out this procedure.
