In-Vehicle Repair: Flexplate: Installation

- Install the flexplate.
- Install the special tool.
- Tighten the nuts in the sequence shown in three stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 80 N.m (59 lb-ft).
- Stage 3: Tighten to 112 N.m (83 lb-ft).
- Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 5R44E & 5R55E .
NOTE:
Engine balancing is not required. Balance weights should not be installed on the new flywheel.
NOTE:
Special nuts are used for installation. Do not use standard nuts.
