Pinpoint Test I: The Speed Control Indicator Lamp Is Always On

  1. I1 CHECK SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Speed Control Actuator C122.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Check the speed control indicator lamp.
    • Does the speed control indicator lamp remain on? 
    1. Yes  : GO to I2.
    2. No  : INSTALL a new speed control actuator. REFER to SPEED CONTROL ACTUATOR . TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. I2 CHECK CIRCUIT 203 (OG/LB) FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C220a.
    • Measure the resistance between the speed control actuator C122 pin 1, circuit 203 (OG/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . CARRY OUT the self-test diagnostics.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
