Fail-Safe Function

The 4F20E transaxle is equipped with a fail-safe control system. Fail-safe function is controlled by TCM and is designed to allow transaxle operation when damage to transaxle is detected. Fail-safe function will be activated if damage to any of the following components is detected.
- Coasting Clutch Solenoid
- Line Pressure Solenoid
- TR Sensor
- Shift Solenoids "A" or "B"
- TP Sensor
- TCC Solenoid
- VSS
- OSS Sensor
Fail-safe function can also be activated by excessive wheel spin.
