Test E: Passenger's Window Is Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Operate passenger's window from driver's door master window switch. If passenger's window does not operate, go to next step. If passenger's window operates, go to step 16
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect passenger's window motor harness connector C610. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at Red/Yellow wire terminal at passenger's window motor harness connector C610 while pressing driver's door master window switch to passenger's window DOWN position. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 8
.
- Disconnect passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. Measure voltage at terminal No. 11 (Tan/Light Blue wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606 while pressing driver's door master window switch to passenger' window DOWN position. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 6
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 11 (Tan/Light Blue wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Light Blue wire.
- Measure resistance in Tan/Light Blue wire between terminal No. 11 at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606 and terminal No. 11 at driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure
and Fig 1
. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Light Blue wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and Red/Yellow wire terminal at passenger's window motor harness connector C610. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Yellow wire.
- Measure resistance in Red/Yellow wire between passenger's window motor harness connector C610 and terminal No. 12 at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and Red/Yellow wire terminal at passenger's window motor harness connector C610. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace driver's door master window switch.
- Measure voltage at Yellow/Red wire terminal at passenger's window motor harness connector C610 while pressing driver's door master window switch to passenger's window UP position. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 11
.
- Measure resistance between ground and Yellow/Red wire terminal at passenger's window motor harness connector C610. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace passenger's window motor. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace driver's door master window switch.
- Disconnect passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. Measure voltage at terminal No. 9 (White/Yellow wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606 while pressing driver's door master window switch to passenger' window UP position. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 14
.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (Yellow/Red wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire.
- Measure resistance in Yellow/Red wire between passenger's window motor harness connector C610 and terminal No. 8 at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Yellow wire.
- Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 9 (White/Yellow wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in White/Yellow wire.
- Measure resistance in White/Yellow wire between terminal No. 9 at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606 and terminal No. 9 at driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure
and Fig 1
. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Yellow wire wire.
- Operate rear power window from individual window control switches. If rear windows operate, go to next step. If rear windows do not operate, go to step 18
.
- Disconnect passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. See Fig 1
. If battery voltage exists, replace passenger's window/door lock switch. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire.
- Disconnect passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. Disconnect driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. Measure resistance in Red/Light Blue wire between terminal No. 10 at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606 and terminal No. 20 at driver's door master window switch harness connector C503. See Figure
and Fig 1
. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Red/Light Blue wire) at passenger's window/door lock switch harness connector C606. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace driver's door master window switch. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red/Light Blue wire.
