Power Window System - Excursion & F250-550 Super Duty: Description

NOTE: This article includes coverage for Cab & Chassis.

Power windows are operated by reversible motors mounted on each window regulator. Each passenger side window has an individual switch for separate control. A master window switch is located on driver-side door from which all windows may be controlled. A lock-out switch is incorporated in the driver-side window switch on Crew Cab and Excursion. When actuated, it prevents window operation from passenger side door switches. Accessory delay feature allows power windows to be operated up to 10 minutes after ignition is turned to LOCK position, or until a front door is opened.

All models are equipped with a one-touch down feature allowing driver to fully lower left front window by momentarily actuating driver-side window down switch at driver-side window switch. To operate driver-side window in regular down mode, press driver-side window down switch to first detent. To enter one-touch down mode, press driver-side window down switch to second detent and release. The one-touch down feature is controlled by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM). GEM offers diagnostics to locate and repair concerns affecting the subsystems it controls.
