Test A: All Power Windows Inoperative (4-Door)
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If driver's power window control switch LEDs illuminate, go to next step. If driver's power window control switch LEDs do not illuminate, go to step 3
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove fuse F56 (25-amp) located in Central Junction Box (CJB). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage in Green/Blue wire between fuse F56 (25-amp) and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, verify customer concern. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 8
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove and check fuse F57 (25-amp) located in Central Junction Box (CJB). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is faulty, replace fuse. If fuse fails again, repair short to ground in Green/Red wire and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage in Green/Red wire between fuse F57 (25-amp) and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 10
.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Install fuse F57 (25-amp). Remove and disconnect driver's power window control switch harness connector C486. See POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH
under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between driver's power window control switch harness connector C486 terminal No. 2 (Green/Orange wire) and ground. See Fig 1
. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open or short in Green/Orange wire and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between driver's power window control switch harness connector C486 terminal No. 3 (Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair short in Black wire and retest system operation.
- Test driver's power window control switch. See DRIVER'S POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH (2-DOOR)
or DRIVER'S POWER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH (4-DOOR)
. If driver's power window control switch is okay, verify customer concern. If driver's power window control switch is faulty, replace driver's power window control switch and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Check fuse F8 (30-amp) located in Battery Junction Box (BJB). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is faulty, replace fuse. If fuse fails again, repair short to ground in Red wire and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage in Red wire between fuse F8 (30-amp) connector terminal and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Red wire and retest system operation.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Install fuse F57. Remove and check fuse F1 (40-amp) located in Battery Junction Box (BJB). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is faulty, replace fuse. If fuse fails again, repair short to ground in Green/Red wire and retest system operation.
- Measure voltage in Green/Red wire between fuse F1 (40-amp) and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, repair open in Green/Red wire and retest system operation. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Green/Blue wire in BJB between ignition relay and fuse F1 (40-amp) and retest system operation.
