Wiper System And Washer System: Self-Diagnostics

If concern remains after inspection, connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to DLC located below instrument panel. Perform data link diagnostic test. If NGS responds with NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED for Generic Electronic Module (GEM), go to TEST K . If GEM passes diagnostic data link test, retrieve continuous DTCs and perform self-test diagnostics for GEM.
If GEM DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, go to appropriate SYSTEM TEST. See GEM DTC TEST INDEX table. If no DTCs related to concern are retrieved, perform appropriate test based on symptom.
