Removal & Installation
- Restraints Control Module (RCM) is located on center tunnel under instrument panel. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. Use FOR DIAGNOSTICS (SEAT NOT REMOVED) procedure. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .Leave negative battery cable disconnected.
- Pull back floor carpet from underneath instrument panel at center tunnel and position out of way. Disconnect RCM connector locking clips and electrical connectors. Remove mounting bolts and RCM.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten RCM mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Ensure air bag system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
