Removal And Installation

    NOTE: Refer to the appropriate Engine Performance article for correct vehicle communication module (VCM) hook-up procedure.
  1. If servicing the PCM, connect the scan tool to the vehicle. Allow the scan tool to identify the vehicle and obtain configuration data.
    • All programmable module information will automatically be retrieved by the VCM.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
  3. Disconnect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the 2 retaining nuts and PCM.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
