Door Alignment - Front

Hinge and striker adjustments 

NOTE: To correctly align the doors, adjust the hinges and the door latch strikers. Adjusting the hinge affects the positioning of the outside surface of the door. Adjusting the door latch striker affects the alignment of the door relative to the weatherstrip and the door closing characteristics.
  1. Measure the clearance between the front fender and the front door.

  3. Measure the clearance between the front door and the rear door.

    Hinge adjustment 

  5. Mark the door and door hinge for reference.

  7. Loosen the 4 hinge-to-door bolts enough to permit movement.
  8. Adjust the door as necessary.
  9. Tighten the 4 hinge-to-door bolts.
    • Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
  10. Striker adjustment 

  11. Loosen the door latch striker plate bolt enough to permit movement.
  12. Adjust the door latch striker plate as necessary.
  13. Tighten the door latch striker plate bolt.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  14. Hinge and striker adjustments 

  15. Check the adjustment and repeat as necessary.
  16. Lubricate the hinges and door check arms with multi-purpose grease.
