The shift control is out of correct gear relationship	Shift control component(s) Internal transmission component(s)	GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
The selector lever indicator does not correspond to the gear	Selector lever indicator adjustment	CHECK that the selector lever indicator adjustment is correct. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER INDICATOR ADJUSTMENT . ADJUST the selector lever indicator if necessary. TEST the system for normal operation. If the condition persists, GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
The control linkage is binding	Shift control component(s) Internal transmission component(s)	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
The selector lever will not shift from range	Shift control component(s) Internal transmission component(s)	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
The selector lever indicator does not illuminate	Instrument cluster	REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION .
The transmission control (TC) switch does not operate correctly	TC switch not cycled during self-test Fuse F26 (10A) TC switch Circuit(s) Powertrain control module (PCM) Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
The transmission control indicator lamp (TCIL) does not illuminate	Circuit(s) Instrument cluster PCM	REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
The transmission control indicator lamp (TCIL) is illuminated continuously	Circuit(s) Instrument cluster PCM	REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
Rattle, noise, buzz or other noise	Selector lever Steering column shrouds	INSPECT the selector lever and shrouds for damage and incorrect installation. REPAIR as necessary. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER - COLUMN SHIFT .
Water enters inside the vehicle	Selector lever cable rubber grommet	SECURE the grommet to the bulkhead.
Water enters inside the vehicle	Torn selector lever cable rubber grommet	INSTALL a new selector lever cable and bracket. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE AND BRACKET - COLUMN SHIFT .

REPAIR as necessary.

Water enters inside the vehicle	Torn selector lever cable rubber grommet	INSTALL a new selector lever cable and bracket. REFER to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE AND BRACKET - FLOOR SHIFT .
