DTC B2425: Remote Keyless Entry Out Of Synchronization
NOTE:
This procedure only applies to 1999 models. For testing procedure on 2000 models, see appropriate REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
- Press any button on inoperative remote entry transmitter 4 times consecutively. If remote transmitter still does not operate properly, go to next step. If remote transmitter now operates properly, system is okay at this time. Clear DTCs and retest system operation.
- Check to see if all other remote transmitters operate properly. If all other remote transmitters operate properly, go to next step. If all other remote transmitters do not operate properly, go to step 4 .
- Press any button on any operating remote transmitters. Within 30 seconds of pressing any button on any operating remote transmitter, press a button on inoperative remote transmitter. Check to see if inoperative remote transmitter now operates properly. If inoperative remote transmitter still does not operate properly, go to next step. If inoperative remote transmitter now operates properly, clear DTCs and retest system operation.
- Reprogram inoperative remote transmitter(s). See PROGRAMMING . If inoperative remote transmitter(s) still does not operate properly, repair power door lock system. See appropriate wiring diagram in POWER DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - ESCORT & ESCORT ZX2 article. If inoperative remote transmitter(s) now operate properly, inform customer that any additional remote transmitters not available during reprogram will not operate with vehicle. All remote transmitters must be programmed at the same time. Clear DTCs and retest system operation.
