Test E: Warning Indicator Off With Ignition On

Check The Charging System Warning Indicator

Turn the ignition off. Disconnect generator 3-pin connector. With the engine off, connect a fused jumper wire (15A) between the generator connector terminal No.1, GEN MON circuit (White/Red wire) and ground. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Is the charging system warning indicator illuminated? If yes, install a new generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Test the system for normal operation.
