Test D: Right Front Power Window Inoperative (4-Door)
NOTE:
After all repairs, clear DTCs and recheck system operation. See WIRING DIAGRAMS
for circuit identification and repair.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect right front window switch 7-pin harness connector C615. Ensure window lock-out switch on master window/door lock switch is in UNLOCK position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and right front window switch connector C615 terminal No. 4 (Red/Light Blue wire). See Fig 1 . If more than 10 volts exist, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exist, go to step 3 .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and right front window switch harness connector C615 terminal No. 1 (White/Yellow wire). Measure resistance between ground and right front window switch harness connector C615 terminal No. 6 (Tan/Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 14 ohms in both measurements, go to step 5 . If resistance is 14 ohms or more in either measurement, go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect master window/door lock control switch harness connector C501. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Ensure window lock-out switch is in UNLOCK position. Measure resistance between master window/door lock switch terminals No. 19 and 20 (component side). See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace master window/door lock switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair appropriate Red/Light Blue wire(s) between master window/door lock control switch and right front, left rear or right rear window switch.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect master window/door lock control switch harness connector C501. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance of White/Yellow wire between master window/door lock switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 9 and right front window switch harness connector C615 terminal No. 1. Measure resistance of Tan/Light Blue wire between master window/door lock switch harness connector C501 terminal No. 11 and right front window switch harness connector C615 terminal No. 6. If resistance is less than 5 ohms in both measurements, replace master window/door lock switch. If resistance is 5 ohms or more in either measurement, repair open in appropriate wire(s).
- Connect jumper wire between right front window switch harness connector C615 terminals No. 1 (White/Yellow wire) and No. 2 (Yellow/Red wire). Connect a second jumper wire between right front window switch harness connector C615 terminals No. 4 (Red/Light Blue wire) and No. 5 (Red/Yellow wire). See Fig 1 . Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If right front window does not operate in downward direction, remove jumper wires and go to next step. If right front window operates in downward direction, but does not operate with right front window switch, replace right front window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If right front window operates in downward direction and operates with right front window switch, but not with master window/door lock switch, replace master window/door lock switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect jumper wire between right front window switch harness connector C615 terminals No. 5 (Red/Yellow wire) and No. 6 (Tan/Light Blue wire). Connect second jumper wire between right front window switch harness connector C615 terminals No. 2 (Yellow/Red wire) and No. 4 (Red/Light Blue wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If right front window does not operate in upward direction, disconnect jumper wires and go to next step. If right front window operates in upward direction, but does not operate with right front window switch, replace right front window switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If right front window operates in upward direction and operates with right front window switch, but not with master window/door lock switch, replace master window/door lock switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect window motor 2-pin harness connector C604. Measure resistance of Yellow/Red wire between right front window switch harness connector C615 terminal No. 2 and right front window motor harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open or high resistance in Yellow/Red wire.
- Measure resistance of Red/Yellow wire between right front window switch harness connector C615 terminals No. 5 and right front window motor harness connector C604. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace right front window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open or high resistance in Red/Yellow wire.
