Power Rear Window Motor Initialization

  1. Cycle ignition switch from LOCK to RUN position. Press power rear window adjust switch VENT button 6 times. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position.
  2. Press power rear window adjust switch VENT button 6 more times. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Power rear window glass will move up and down approximately 0.8" (20 mm), indicating power rear window motor has entered initialization mode.
    3. NOTE: Power rear window adjust switch must be held in UP or DN position until window glass stops moving. Failure to hold switch will end initialization operation.
  3. Hold power rear window adjust switch in UP position until window glass is in fully up position.
    4. NOTE: If a repair is to be performed, release power rear window adjust switch after desired position is attained. This will end initialization operation.
  4. Hold power rear window adjust switch in DN position, until window glass is fully down position.
  5. Hold power rear window adjust switch in UP position, until window glass stops in fully up. Power rear window glass will move up and down approximately 0.8 " (20 mm), indicating power rear window motor is now initialized.
