Test L: Resume Switch Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using New Generation Star (NGS) tester or Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester, monitor speed control servo/actuator PID RESUME. Press and release speed control switch RESUME button while slightly turning steering wheel from side to side. If NGS/WDS tester does not indicate ACTIVE with RESUME button depressed and NOTACT with RESUME button released, go to next step. If NGS/WDS tester indicates ACTIVE with RESUME button depressed and NOTACT with RESUME button released, system is okay.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect speed control servo/actuator 10-pin harness connector C116. Measure resistance between speed control servo/actuator harness connector C116 terminals No. 5 (Light Blue/Black wire) and No. 6 (Dark Green/Orange wire) while pressing speed control switch RESUME button and slightly turning steering wheel from side to side. See Figure . Resistance should be 1980-2420 ohms with RESUME button pressed and more than 10 k/ohms with RESUME button released. If resistance is as specified, replace speed control servo/actuator. See SPEED CONTROL SERVO/ACTUATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTC and repeat self-test. If resistance is not as specified, replace speed control switch. See SPEED CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
