Power Sliding Door Adjustment: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Ford Windstar and 1999 Ford Windstar. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: For correct Power Sliding Door (PSD) operation, it is critical that door adjuster wedge and striker on "B" pillar fit smoothly into wedge pocket and latch in PSD. If any adjustments are made to PSD, realignment of wedge may be necessary.
NOTE: Never use wedge or strikers to adjust or fit sliding door. Using a wedge to force door to move will cause wedges to squeak and eventually break. It will also cause PSD to reverse prior to full closure or not close completely. Using striker to force PSD to move will cause a rattle, or affect PSD opening or PSD closing efforts. If upper and lower wedges are not loosened during PSD adjustment, they will pull PSD into same position PSD was in before beginning adjustment.
