Test F: Alarm System Does Not Arm/Disarm, Using Remote Transmitter

  1. Using driver's set switch, ARM and DISARM system. If alarm system sets and resets correctly, go to next step. If alarm system does not set and reset correctly, perform TEST E: ALARM SYSTEM DOES NOT ARM/DISARM, USING DRIVER'S SET SWITCH  .
  2. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, to right of steering column. Using NGS tester, monitor Driver's Door Module (DDM) FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA, while pressing LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on remote transmitter. If LAST DATA RECEIVED does not match button pressed on remote transmitter, go to next step. If LAST DATA RECEIVED matches the button pressed on remote transmitter, replace DDM. See DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and repeat DDM self-test.
  3. Replace remote transmitter battery. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA. Press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on remote transmitter. If LAST DATA RECEIVED does not match button pressed of remote transmitter, go to next step. If LAST DATA RECEIVED matches button pressed of remote transmitter, fault found as low battery. Retest system operation.
    4. NOTE: When carrying out the following procedure, all previous programmed remote transmitters will be erased. Customer needs to be informed that any remote transmitters not present during programming mode will not operate.
  4. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM FUNCTION TEST TIC/DATA while pressing LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on remote transmitter. If LAST DATA RECEIVED matches button pressed of remote transmitter, system is okay. Clear DTCs and repeat DDM self-test. If LAST DATA RECEIVED does not match button pressed of remote transmitter, reprogram remote transmitter. See REMOTE TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING. Clear DTCs and repeat DDM self-test. If concern still exists, replace DDM. See DRIVER'S DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clear DTCs and repeat DDM self-test.
