Spare Key Programming Switch

NOTE: Spare key programming switch is an electronic switch, not a visible mechanical switch. A New Generation Star (NGS) tester is necessary to enable and disable this switch. The state of this switch can be viewed by accessing PCM PID SPARE_KY with New Generation Star (NGS) tester.

Insert a programmed ignition key into ignition switch. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Connect NGS tester to DLC. Obtain security access. See SECURITY ACCESS . Using NGS tester, toggle SPARE KEY PROGRAMMING SWITCH to desired position (enable or disable).
