Front Impact Sensor

Front impact sensor is located on upper radiator core support, next to hood latch. Impact sensor reacts to impacts according to direction and force. It discriminates between an impact that requires air bag deployment and an impact that does not. When an impact occurs requiring air bag deployment, impact sensor contacts close, completing electrical circuit necessary for system operation.
