Rear Wheel Speed Sensor

All Vehicles
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the rear wheel speed sensor.
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the rear wheel speed sensor.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Remove the parking brake shoes. For additional information, refer to DISC article in Brakes .
- Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor harness and disconnect it from the parking brake cable conduit.
- Remove the bolt and remove the rear wheel speed sensor.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.NOTE: For vehicles with 3-channel ABS, verify that the wheel speed sensor is seated correctly in the rear differential housing by attempting to twist or rotate it. A correctly seated wheel speed sensor should not twist or rotate.
- Apple electrical grease to the inside of the connector where the hard-shell and base join before connecting the wheel speed sensor harness.
Vehicles With 3-Channel ABS
NOTE:
Clean off dirt and foreign material that may have collected around the rear wheel speed sensor before removal.
NOTE:
Thoroughly clean the mounting surface.
NOTE:
Inspect the wheel speed sensor O-ring for damage and lightly lubricate the O-ring with rear axle lubricant.
