Front Seat Backrest: Assembly

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, and notes at the beginning of the disassembly procedure.
  1. Install the seat cushion foam on the backrest frame.
    2. NOTE: The LH and RH head restraint rod guides are not interchangeable.
    NOTE: For correct installation, the locating tabs must face toward the front of the seat.

  2. Install the head restraint rod guides into the seat backrest frame head restraint guide tubes.
  3. Install the head restraint.
  4. Restore the vehicle to operating condition
    1. Install the seat backrest. For additional information, refer to FRONT SEAT BACKREST .
    2. Install the front seat. For additional information, refer to FRONT SEAT .
      3. WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) deactivation/reactivation procedure.
    3. Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION .
      4. WARNING: The restraint system diagnostic tool is for restraint system service only. Remove from the vehicle prior to road use. Failure to remove could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards.
    4. With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint1 system (SRS). For additional information, refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
    5. Check the active restraints for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
