Intake Manifold: Installation
- Install IMRC to lower intake manifold if necessary. See INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL ACTUATOR . Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant to lower intake manifold front and rear end seal mounting points. See Fig 1. Install lower intake manifold front and rear end seals. Install lower intake manifold gaskets and install lower intake manifold within 4 minutes of applying sealant.
- Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant to lower intake manifold mounting points. See Fig 2. Position lower intake manifold onto engine. Refer to long and short bolt locations noted during removal and ensure bolts are installed in proper locations. Tighten lower intake manifold bolts in sequence to specification. See Fig 3. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect heater by-pass tube and retaining bolts. Connect IMRC connector. Connect upper radiator hose and heater hose. Connect exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube. See EXHAUST MANIFOLD-TO-EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE TUBE . Connect EGR vacuum tube.
- Install fuel injector supply manifold and bolts. See FUEL INJECTION SUPPLY MANIFOLD & INJECTORS . Connect fuel injection supply manifold connectors. Install upper intake manifold. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (UPPER) . Fill and bleed cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM FILLING & BLEEDING .
NOTE:
Install fuel injection supply manifold and fuel injectors as an assembly.
