Removal & Installation: Compressor: Removal

Disconnect negative battery cable. Discharge A/C system, using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove drive belt. Remove bolt and manifold/tube assembly. See Fig 1. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect crankshaft position sensor harness connector. See Fig 2. Disconnect compressor harness connector. See Fig 3. Remove compressor bolts and remove compressor. See Fig 4. Rotate compressor shaft 6-8 revolutions while collecting oil in a clean measuring device.
