Door Window Glass Adjustment (ZX2)

  1. Check door alignment. Remove door trim panel. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - ESCORT & ZX2 article.
    2. NOTE: When glass is raised, both glass stops must contact upper glass stops at same time.
  2. Verify that upper edge of door glass is within .10-.17" (2.5-4.5 mm). Measure from lower edge of window weatherstrip to upper edge of door glass. If necessary, adjust position of upper glass stops.
  3. Verify that rear edge of door glass is within .51-.60" (13-16 mm). Measure from rear edge of door glass to front edge of window weatherstrip. If necessary, loosen window regulator and guide nuts, and adjust window regulator and guide. Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
    4. NOTE: One clockwise turn of door glass adjustment bolt will move door glass outward .06" (1.5 mm).
  4. Verify that door window glass flush position is within .18-.29" (4.5-7.5 mm). Measure from door glass surface to inner edge of window weatherstrip. If necessary, loosen nut and turn adjustment bolt to adjust door glass. Tighten nut. Recheck all specifications and repeat adjustments as necessary.
